| Urquhart
Castle, on Fascinating Loch Ness, the most visited ancient monument in Scotland,
is often represented in a gloomy, misty atmosphere... However this is how you'll see it when visiting the site in Summer : a cheerful, bright and colourful landscape, here painted from a photograph taken in May, in the golden yellow light of masses of brilliant brooms in full bloom... |

The
DRUMNADROCHIT ARTS GROUP, founded around 50 years ago, is still active in the glen : a more formal class is now given in Drumnadrochit and several of our members have left or moved recently. The others still gather together in friendly meetings or informal workshops, taking pleasure in working together and exchanging ideas and experiences.

| Lyrics of a Scottish Song, the musical background on this page : "Come by the Hills" | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
I. Come by the hills to a land where fancy is free And stand where the peaks meet the sky and the lochs reach the sea Where the rivers run clear and the bracken is gold in the sun And the cares of tomorrow must wait 'til this day is done. |
II. Come by the hills to the land where life is a song And sing while the birds fill the air with their joy all day long Where the trees sway in time and even the wind sings in tune And the cares of tomorrow can wait 'til this day is done. |
III.
Come by the hills to a land where legend remains Where stories of old stir the heart and may yet come again Where our past has been lost and the future has still to be won And the cares of tomorrow must wait 'til this day is done. |
